My first blog....warning...it's a little boring.

Hello there! This is my very first blog on Blogger. I thought that this was called Blogspot, but I guess that it was acquired by Google, thus the name change. I'm sitting on my couch in a little pain; I had surgery two weeks ago....ouch! I'm watching a little baseball; the Cubbies are playing the Cards, it's the top of the 4th, and the Cubbies are up by 3! Yes! Fontenot just hit a home run! Lohse is pitching for the Cards...loser. Anyway, now we're up by 6! Go Cubbies1 Wait for it, wait for it, Johnson just walked. Sorry. Enough about baseball, a passtime of convenience. Stay tuned for more about me....

My name is Dedra, I'm an only child. Sometimes I'm grateful, sometimes, I wish that I had an older brother, and a younger sister, but that would make me an only child.....no thanks. Side note....Chronicles of Narnia is coming out in two weeks, and I'm excited! When the first one came out, I couldn't care less. A group of my friends couldn't wait to see it, and I went home and watched White Christmas for the 99th time. Anyway, one day I'm flipping through the channels, and I see that "Chronicles" is on. I'm curious about all of the hype, and since I had recently seen The Bridge to Teribithia, I was open to the whole reality vs. fantasy piIece. Anyhoo, when I begin to watch, it's during the scene where the boy has been sentenced to death. Then the Snow Queen takes the Lion into a tent, and the Lion comes out and says, "I'll die for the kid". (I'm paraphrasing) Anyway, then they take the Lion up to the place to die, and I literally began to weep. It reminded me of how we mess up, and how even before we could mess up, Jesus came out and said "I'll die for the kid", and He did. He died for all of us "kids". Anyway, after I cried my eyes out, I watched a little more, but it didn't really make sense, because I hadn't seen the beginning. I waited for the movie to re-air, I watched it in it's entirety, and I've been a fan since. I still haven't read the book, but oh well.

Back to me....I was called to Youth Ministry 11 years ago, and I've loved my kids ever since. I've watched a lot of my kids get married, have kids, join my LifeGroup....more on that later. I'm single, and have no kids that I gave birth to, but I love my Youth kids like I gave birth to them. I have two dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier, and a Rat Terrier. They wear me out, but I love them too.

I'm pretty boring. I love my Youth kids, I love my family, my friends, and my dogs. I like football, basketball, and baseball.

I probably won't blog that often, because it's one more thing for me to do. I have two other blogs. One on my myspace page, and one on wordpress. dedra77.wordpress.com

Okay, that's all I have to type. Have a super day!
